The big reveal is over. The formal group shots are done. The long-awaited kiss has sealed the deal and now- after months (sometimes years!) of planning- YOU. ARE. MARRIED!!! Is it any wonder that wedding receptions are the wild and crazy shindigs that they are?!?!
Wedding receptions are the epitome of celebration…the beginning of a new family, the public commitment of two lives, the verbalization of love and support and partnership. Cake is cut, food is eaten, and glasses are raised in congratulations to two people who have opened their hearts and lives to one another. They are relaxed and exuberant and I just absolutely love them! And since I’ve kept you guys waiting on this final installment from Kelly and Rob’s York, Maine wedding, I think I’ll stop talking and get to the good stuff!!
The reception was held at the Union Bluff Meeting House…
Yum!! Kelly and Rob had scrumptious cupcakes instead of the traditional cake, courtesy of Clara’s Cupcakes!
I love love love the first dance!! Kelly and Rob’s was extra special for me because they chose the same song that Justin and I danced to at our wedding!!
After the cake cutting were the parent dances…I get teary every single time!!
Then it was party time!!
Watch out…when Rob gets a conga line going, there’s no stopping him!
In keeping with their York Beach theme and in the spirit of relaxation and fun, Kelly and Rob provided flip-flops to their guests…a move which even inspired Rob’s grandmother to hit the dance floor!
To my utter astonishment, at one point during the evening, Kelly and her father busted out with some SERIOUS ballroom dancing (no, not the “Dancing With The Stars” sort…the traditional kind, that can be done in a wedding gown!). Impressive doesn’t begin to cover it!
Kelly and Rob! Congratulations!!! Thank you so much!!
