Sometimes the wedding day just gets a little crazy and things get missed amidst the chaos. Sometimes a couple knows that they won’t have time to take any shots of the two of them on their wedding day because they want to get to their guests as quickly as possible. Sometimes the bride wants to be able to take some portraits without worrying about getting her dress dirty or wet. There are a million reasons to schedule a Day After session and all of them mean that we will get some quality, relaxed time for portraits and details that result in fabulous photos!! Despite the name, Day After sessions rarely actually happen the day after a wedding! More often they happen weeks or months later…sometimes even years! But they are always ridiculously fun and I’m a huge proponent of getting to wear your wedding gown as many times as possible!!
Sarah and Denny knew on their wedding day that we were going to do a Day After session. Between the rainy weather and the desire to get to their reception and spend time with their guests, they chose to save some of their portrait time for another day! I won’t give away all of the portrait fun since that is coming up next, but I did want to share some of the details! I am officially obsessed with Sarah’s kitchen chairs, by the way…my ongoing love affair with painted, rescued furniture and all things blue has skyrocketed them to my favorite kitchen table chairs to date!!
Sarah’s fabulous J.Crew sandals…
Denny’s Vineyard Vines bowtie!
Not only were the invitations gorgeous engraved classics, but they featured the Rives family seal and werea beautiful match to Sarah’s parents’ invitation!
As Sarah’s wedding gift, Denny had their invitation engraved on this silver tray!
How I love those vintage linen hankies!!! Monogrammed, of course!
The portraits are next!! Woo hoo!!
