What do you get when you mix 1 Canadian international do-gooder, 1 Peruvian who’s up for just about anything, and all of their family and friends from around the world gathered in a super fabulous tent by the Maine coast? One hoppin’ reception, that’s what!!
Ali and Cesar put so much thought and effort into the details of their Biddeford Pool reception! Beginning with the ice cream truck meeting their guests outside the church after the ceremony, they left no detail un-thought of!! What I really really love is their attention to sharing things that are meaningful to each of them and to who they are as a couple! The music, the food, the drinks…everything reflected their multi-cultural home and brought bits of their travels and interests into their wedding day! I LOVE it!!
With that in mind, I want to start you off with some of their awesome details!
Ali handmade her own bouquet using Peruvian wedding lilies…beautiful!!
Can I tell you how much I love a tented reception by the sea?? Gorgeous!! Ali and Cesar rented their tent and tables through Marshall Rentals!

I’m a huge fan of the recent trend to have flip flops on hand for guests! As someone who wore flip-flops under her own wedding gown, I suppose I’d think all occasions benefit from comfy feet!![]()

I’m absolutely in LOVE with Ali’s fabulous purple engagement ring! It is made of a stone that can be mined only in South America…so special and utterly unique!!!!
Can I get a huge cheer for handpainted signage?!?!? Yayyyy!!!!

Justin grabbed this shot of the party from across the Pool…love it!!
Ali and Cesar brought in beer from Peru, Canada, and locally from Maine…and can I tell you how much I love the sailboat?

The event was catered by Mountain Caterers and the food was amazing (and gorgeous!)!! The ceviche shooters (right) were especially popular! Just another taste of Peruvian influence!

Rather than a traditional guestbook, Ali and Cesar had their guests write messages on the back of assorted Maine postcards that will later be mounted into a book!
I’m obsessed with these cupcakes!! Seriously- I shot approximately 150 images of them!! They are so fun and colorful!! And the light! Oh that scrumptious light!!

Ali’s parents began the toasts!

Told you I was obsessed with those cupcakes!!
Cesar’s dad just has the biggest heart!
Yum!

Ali and Cesar impressed us all with a seriously awesome first salsa dance…it was AWESOME!

Ummm…coolest dip ever? I think so!!
Their first dance was followed by a pisco sour tasting…a traditional Peruvian drink!

I’ve never seen a dance floor fill up and get hopping SO fast…it was amazing!!
And, to round out the night, Ali and Cesar hired Rickey Hines to teach their guests some salsa basics to keep the floor bouncing through the night!! So cool!!
Ali and Cesar- thank you guys so much for sharing your incredible day with us!! I see ice skating in Ottawa together in our (hopefully!) not-too-distant future!!

Cindy, your comments make the photos so much more fun to look through and re-live the day! You are so so so talented and I am so thankful to have found you to be part of our wedding!
Gorgeous wedding, and you really did an awesome job with it. You’re getting so great at the details!
Hope you’re well. Talk soon.
Steph
