Erin & Jim: Vintage Florida Wedding!

As I mentioned in Erin and Jim’s sneak peek, they had planned for their gorgeous, vintage-inspired wedding to all take place lakeside under sunny skies!

Mom Nature had other ideas!

I’ve said it before and I’m sure that I will say it many more times, but something magical happens when rain strikes on wedding day. While no one plans on rain for their big day and there is often an initial moment of panic when everyone realizes that it will happen, that panic is most often followed by a deep communal breath and then everyone just lets go. Lets go of expectations of perfection. Lets go of micro managing. Lets go of everything except the fact that they are surrounded by an amazing, loving, laughing support system of family and friends who never needed perfection in the first place!

Erin and Jim, as you may recall from their surf-inspired engagement session, aren’t exactly stress-out-over-a-party kind of people! They high-fived when they realized all the tables would fit inside and relished putting their engineers’ brains to work solving each logistical issue that popped up! And at the end of the day, they promised forever surrounded by those who love them most, threw an absolutely stunning and insanely FUN party, and celebrated the official beginning of their life together with all of the joy and laughter that make them the absolutely fantastic couple that they are!

Erin and Jim’s Florida wedding!!

Erin surprised Jim with this gorgeous pocket-watch!

Her gown. Her lovely, lovely, STUNNING gown.

Erin and Jim chose to connect before their ceremony, so we grabbed our chance during a break in the weather to meet up under the Live Oak trees to do their “First Look”

Erin looked AMAZING!!!!!!

Jim wasn’t too shabby himself!

Erin spent the months before her wedding scouring flea markets for mismatched china and vintage lace, and busting out the chainsaw, paint, and hot glue to hand-make her centerpieces!
A custom wedding logo stamped on vintage hankies made for adorable favors!
Each guest marked their personal mason jar with a muslin and lace tag featuring their name and the wedding logo!
The pre-ceremony snack bar featured candy, popcorn, and the coolest take on indoor s’mores I’ve ever seen!

The clouds eventually parted enough for the ceremony to take place lakeside as planned!

The menu featured a beautiful take on southern comfort food by River City Catering! Fried green tomatoes, fried chicken and waffle skewers, shrimp and  polenta…all accompanied by a fabulous whiskey smash!

Cheers!

You may remember these inspired little cake toppers from Monica & Kurt‘s wedding last fall! Erin and Jim liked them so much that they ordered a topper all their own!

Why keep it just to cake? These pies were equally scrumptious!

Jim and Erin’s bother, Mike, ended the evening manning the bar…they make a great team! Cheers to an awesome evening!!
